The last few weeks have shown a classic of the Argentine economy: the need (or urgency) for an agreement with the IMF to avoid an exchange rate crisis and (in theory) eliminate exchange restrictions.
Thank you for writing this. You are 100% correct. I was a bit surprised by the IMF loan and explanation as well. Milei and friends should listen to you and Ocampo! While he's not spoken out - at least not in English media I see - I would guess Calvo and all the other excellent Argentine-origin economists would agree. He has argued for dollarization for years!
